Selling RECs

Did you know that your wind turbine or solar collectors produce certificates? These are called Guarantees of Origin (GoOs). For every 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable electricity produced, one GoO is created. A GoO serves as proof that the electricity produced was indeed sustainably generated. These GoOs can be sold and serve as proof for the customer that they are purchasing green electricity.

Many owners of wind turbines or solar panels are unaware that the GoOs produced can be traded. If you do not take any action yourself, these are automatically transferred to your energy supplier. VanHelder offers the possibility to sell the GoOs produced. You don't even have to be a customer of ours.

There is currently no general platform where you can trade your GoOs. VanHelder therefore offers the possibility to do so via our own platform. Trading GoOs is a simple administrative action in CertiQ.
